Principal's Message

Dear West Lab Family,

Congratulations! West Lab has once again earned the prestigious “A” designation from the Florida Department of Education and the State of Florida. Our percentages of students making high standards are once again our school’s highest including our Science scores which dramatically increased by 27 percentage points. Ninety-five percent of our fifth graders scored at or above grade level! This school family’s continued commitment to excellence and maintaining high standards helped make this a reality.

This October will mark my fifth year being a part of this extraordinary and exemplary group of professionals. I am so proud of how we have evolved to becoming a faculty that recognizes that providing a top notch education means learning everything we can about our students and developing an instructional plan that addresses individual student needs and also addresses data trends.

This year we will not only offer our students a Mathematics enrichment program to ensure that our high achieving students continue to make learning gains; we are also offering a Reading enrichment program to every fourth and fifth grader. I look forward to another school year filled with honest dialogue about taking our school to the highest levels of academic achievement and school/parent/community partnerships.
